Classification of fault diagnosis in a gear wheel by used probabilistic neural network, fast Fourier transform and principal component analysis

    Get PDF
This paper presents the results of an experimental application of artificial neural network as a classifier of the degree of cracking of a tooth root in a gear wheel. The neural classifier was based on the artificial neural network of Probabilistic Neural Network type (PNN). The input data for the classifier was in a form of matrix composedof statistical measures, obtained from fast Fourier transform (FFT) and principal component analysis (PCA). The identified model of toothed gear transmission, operating in a circulating power system, served for generation of the teaching and testing set applied for the experiment

Diagnosing of car engine fuel injectors damage using DWT analysis and PNN neural networks

    Get PDF
In many research centers all over the world nowadays works are being carried out aimed at compiling method for diagnosis machines technical condition. Special meaning have non-invasive methods including methods using vibroacoustic phenomena. In this article is proposed using DWT analysis and energy or entropy, which are a base for diagnostic system of fuel injectors damage in car combustion engine. There were conducted researches aimed at building of diagnostic system using PNN neural networks

Circular Economy in the Transport Industry in Terms of Corporate Social Responsibility Concept

Purpose: The paper concerns the concept of moving away from a linear economy to a new global idea – the circular economy. The aim of the study is to present the idea of the practical application of the opportunities offered by the circular economy in the terms of corporate social responsibility. The authors focus on the example from the Transport-Shipping-Logistics (TSL) industry. I n addition, they also present previously used pro-environmental solutions in TSL and Courier-Express-Parcel Services (CEP) area.Design/methodology/approach: The paper is based on the analysis of literature related to pro-ecological activities and the idea of linear and circular economy in the context of the corporate social responsibility concept.Findings: The result of the study is a consolidation the concept of the circular economy in terms of pro-ecological aspect of corporate social responsibility in TSL enterprises.Research and practical limitations/implications: The article points out that the circular economy and other pro-environment practices are the guidelines of conduct for designing and developing corporate social responsibility strategies in the companies operating in the Transport-Shipping-Logistics industry.Originality/value: The issues presented in the paper cover innovative aspects according to the latest European Union guidelines indicated in COM(2015) – Communication from the Commission to the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions: Closing the Loop – An EU Action Plan for the Circular Economy.Paper type: theoretical paper

NATO transport through a “Schengen military zone” from an international legal perspective

    Get PDF
The cross-border transport of soldiers and military equipment is particularly difficult and characterized by a distinct difference with civil transport. For its implementation, political will is needed, in line with the tolerance of representatives of foreign armed forces on the territory of the state, as well as adequate transport capacity and infrastructure capable of ensuring transport efficiency. These circumstances are particularly important in the case of alliance cooperation within NATO in the Euro-Atlantic subregion. Legislation within the organization is designed to ensure coordination of military transport activities. However, the procedures currently in place are criticized as being too rigid and failing to provide a quick transfer of forces and resources in the event of a sudden threat to one of NATO’s allies. For this reason, there have been calls to create an allied “Schengen military zone”, in which the Schengen Agreement would be abolished, internal controls and administrative hindrances between NATO countries would be lifted, and the free transport of soldiers and military equipment would take place. The aim of this article is to examine the feasibility of implementing this proposal and to identify the basic difficulties involved in carrying out military transport within the NATO context. A question arises about the possibility of creating a “Schengen military zone” for NATO. The aim of the article is, firstly, to present NATO legal sources governing the issue of military transport. In the next part of the analysis, allied military transport procedures will be analysed, accompanied by a critical identification of potential shortcomings. The article concludes by providing answers to the research question

    Autonomous vehicles: basic issues

The work was dedicated to the subject of innovative autonomous vehicles on the transport market. The paper presents basic information about autonomous cars: a nomenclature characteristic of autonomous vehicles, along with the terms “automatic”, “autonomous”, “self-drive” and “driverless”. The article also presents various types of autonomous cars based on the most popular classifications in the world. The purpose of the work is to present basic issues related to autonomous vehicles

Optimization of transportation of unexploded ordnance, explosives and hazardous substances – vibration issues

    Get PDF
The paper presents discussion on vibration issues for larger concept of new method for optimization of transportation of unexploded ordnance, explosives and hazardous substances in the road network. The study is focused only on one aspect determine the route of special military vehicles – carrying munitions and explosives. The discussion is limited to vibration issues and possibilities of its application for the presented task. Also it presents basic criteria for evaluation of track movement defined in the transport network for the transport of hazardous materials. One of the key aspects of the safe transportation of hazardous materials including unexploded ordnance is to provide best choice of path taking into consideration state of the surface on all sections of the selected route

Definition of speed moving children in the aspect of road accidents – preliminary researches

    Get PDF
In the article the initial results of research were presented which were conducted in order to define the speed of movement of pedestrians in road traffic. School-age children were chosen as the research material. The tests were conducted for movements of a different speed: slow walking, normal walking, fast walking and running. The speed values achieved in the conducted tests enable the precise definition of time when the pedestrian stays on the road. As a consequence they enable the checking of the possibilities to avoid running the pedestrian over by the driver and their mutual influence on the occurring road accident
